I'm considering walking the Yorkshire 3 peaks in July and wondered if anyone has any tips with regards to training? Cheers
Hey @hairybakedbean (fun username, haha) - my other half did it last year and tried to do it under 24h.
He told me that the areas he wished he had trained more were thighs and calfs - after the 2nd peak it became really challenging and his muscles were spazzing out, as well as overall endurance.
What he did:
- Ben Nevis alone 1x just to jauge the difficuly
- Went on regular runs (min. 1h)
- Went for week-hikes - about 4/5h at the time
Just make sure you have all the gear you need too - especially if you're doing the 24h gig.
